Morning Weigh In: Up .7 lbs.
Someone better talk me down this morning! I’ve gained .7 pounds! Is someone kidding me with this? Surely the scale must be broken. I frantically go to my calorie/food list from the yesterday and begin re-calculating my menu. Did I forget to add 3 pieces of chocolate cake somewhere in there? There must be a milkshake and fries that I forgot to compute! Nope! Nothing like that! I’m completely within the guidelines of what I’m suppose to eat! I’m low on the 1500 calorie count, but other than that… Darn it! There’s got to be a reason!
Stunned, I began tackling this new day. I think I wandered around for the first few hours, dazed, shocked and utterly confused. Do I call the doctor? Do I talk with my friend who’d been through this before? Do I run over the scale with my car? Gathering myself together, I decided that this must be a fluke; a re-adjusting, if you will, of my body getting back to normal. Surely this won’t be a pattern and once my body realizes that I can re-introduce regular food into my system, it will re-adjust and settle back in to my loss. So, I’m going through my day, still cautious, but devoted to writing down each item and calculating the results.
Breakfast: one bite of banana with peanut butter (organic, no sugar)watercoffee
Lunch: one piece of ham rolled up with American cheese and mustard
Snack: a handful of cashews
Dinner: one bowl chili with some shredded cheese and one beer (hey, it’s been a taxing day!)Water
ESTIMATED TOTAL CALORIES: 715
Ironically, I still feel good. My digestive system isn’t in any weird shock or anything, I’m not feeling bloated and the best news of all…my jeans still fit! Onward to the next day!
