Morning Weigh In: Down 1 lb.
Yesterday was a definite struggle. Those six apples were tough to get down, but I weighed in this morning and I’ve lost another pound. That puts me at 11.4 pounds of lost weight. Looking at the fact that I’m on day 13, I realized I should be 13 pounds lighter, but have decided to forgo my frustration and focus on the fact that my menstrual cycle is the culprit. I’m looking forward to the Dr.’s prediction that I will drop the extra weight once my cycle has ended.
My hunger pangs are on the rise. I can actually hear my stomach rumbling and even though my irritability factor in low, I’m craving serious nourishment. At least I can look forward to getting back to the regular menu. Did I actually say that? I’m noticing that my energy level is also low. I have a lot to do today and feel as though I’m dragging a bit.
Lunch arrives and I’m thrilled! 3oz. of grilled shrimp, celery and a breadstick. Even though I’m feeling famished, I’ll have my strawberries mid-afternoon. Man, it’s tough to get through that celery! And while we’re on the subject of veggies, let me just say, there HAS to be some alternatives – I’m begging! Once you get a hold of the list of allowed foods, you’ll know what I’m talking about.
Not only are you limited, but the ironic thing is that the veggie portions seem monumental in comparison to the rest of the portions. You think, “I like cucumbers and celery, that should be no problem” but having a couple of cucumbers versus eating a whole, humongous cucumber or eating a couple pieces of celery versus an entire bag is enough to make even the Pope want to swear out loud.
Managing through this menu has become a difficult struggle for me. I realize that I’m more than half way through and yes, that is quite a light shining at the end of this tunnel. However, I can tell you how important it will be for you to come up with some solid recipes. There is menu fatigue.
Dinner is here! Hooray! 3oz. of lean beef, tomatoes, my breadstick and let’s see… what should I have for desert tonight? An apple? Surely you jest! I never want to see another apple again. I’ll opt for an orange.
This day has handed me a tug of war with my energy level and I’ve been consistently hungry throughout the day. I’m thrilled that I’m down another pound and will, of course, persevere. Hopefully, tomorrow, my body will have evened out a bit and I can get back on track with managing my cravings and hunger.
Down another pound. All in all…a good day.
