Morning Weigh In: Down .8 lbs.

I can’t take it anymore! This menu is driving me crazy! I’m hungry!

I realize this morning, I weighed in with a loss of .8 pounds and resumed my injections. I understand that I am venturing through my menstruation without gaining. I get it that I’ve been able to wear almost every pair of jeans tucked away in my closet (and button them without looking like I was auditioning for some contortionists group that travels with the circus). Yes, I realize that I’m loosing weight. All of that considered…I want my food back! I promise, I’ll be good from now on!

I made my lunch today – 3oz of chicken (again), cucumbers with apple cider vinegar (again), my one lone breadstick (again) and my apple (which continues to taunt and tease me as it sits comfortably next to the banana I crave). This afternoon has been the most difficult for me. I sat down with my meal and just stared at it for a minute. I couldn’t bear eating this for the “um-teenth” time.

After the first couple of bites, I shook my head and began feeling sick to my stomach. I could bear forcing this down another day. I got up from the table and took out a Ziploc baggie. I packed the food away and decided to eat a couple of bites throughout the afternoon. I thought, “I’ve lost 14 pounds. That’s good right? That’s enough right? I can quit now and be happy right?”

As I played tug of war with the idea, I knew that even though I have come a long way with this program, that my goal of reaching a 20 pound loss was still hanging out there. I knew that I ultimately wanted to see that 20 pounds disappear. It was an interesting mental tug of war. One that was lost before it even began.

I got through the day. I ate here and there and made a promise to myself that I was bigger than this problem. A breakdown? Absolutely. But I’m also facing a very busy day today and hopefully, with the added distractions, I will persevere.

Dinner: 3oz lean steak, tomatoes, one breadstick and an orange for desert
