Food Allergies Sensitivity Testing: Why You Can't Lose Weight

Think you don’t have any food sensitivities? Think again… Food allergies are more widely spread than most of us know. When most people think of food allergies, they think of hives, a swollen throat, difficulty breathing, etc. What you don't know about food allergies/sensitivities is that a large portion of the public has them.

The increasing prevalence of food intolerance is causing vast numbers of biological malfunctions that result in internal disturbances such as inappropriate fat storage, inefficient use of the stored fat, food cravings and water retention. Our Western lifestyle-with its highly processed foods, chemicals, pollution, stress, industrialization and social structure triggers many of these intolerances.

Food allergies and intolerances (sensitivities) occur when your body reacts to certain foods. Basically, once the food is eaten, it stimulates an immune response in the gut. This response can increase levels of inflammation and excessive production of free-radicals (which destroy cells) in the body. If the food allergy/intolerance is unidentified, a person could be consuming it every day, leading to chronic activation of the immune system. The result can be major illnesses such as diabetes, obesity, cardiovascular disease, arthritis, dementia, and others, but many times it shows up as the inability to lose weight, a bloating sensation, a stuffy nose, or conditions that seem pretty normal and something you might never look into. Overtime, those free radicals cause issues much bigger that hopefully could be caught early on with a simple allergy test.

At Derma Health Institute we run a simple blood test to identify your food allergies/intolerances, and then we assist you in making the simplest changes in your diet. Many people start feeling and looking better and losing weight within days.
